Depression or feeling blue

It is not an easy task to make the difference between depression and the natural state of sadness or, “the blues”. The blues are feelings of sore generated by unpleasant situations one can encounter in every aspect of his or her life. The difference between those passing feelings of sadness and depression is how much they last. While feeling blue may last for a day or for a few days and beyond those days one can find happiness and enjoy life, for depression it takes a lot longer to heal. Those feeling of sadness called the blues, are in fact grief or an adjustment disorder and they are normal reactions to factors of stress. They could, in some undesirable cases lead to major depression episodes if they are not treated properly and if their sources are not eliminated or dealt with.
